Subject: 2021 Rockville Lions Train Show

Hi Everybody,

The Rockville Lions Club 30th Annual Train Show is less than a week away! We’re excited that we can do everything we did in previous years with 2 exceptions: the City of Rockville has a mask mandate in all government buildings. The Senior Center is a government building so all need to wear masks while indoors (except eating and drinking). The other exception is limits on room occupancy. I don’t think that will a problem, the smaller rooms are 15-20 people at any given time and up to 75 people in the large room.

We will have doughnuts and coffee/tea for you Saturday and Sunday morning.
Lunch will be provided both days.

Our set-up schedule is the same as every year:

Friday: Set-up 5pm – 9pm
Saturday: Set-up 7:30am – 10am
Show 10am – 4pm
Sunday: Set-up 10am – 12noon
Show 12noon- 4pm
Clean-up 4pm – 8pm

Please let me know if you have any questions.

See you Friday evening!

Lion Jay Udovich

All,
Regretfully, the city of Ranson has canceled the event. The event organizers are searching for a new venue, but it won't be until next year most likely. I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Hi Chuck and everyone else,
Set up will be Friday night (11/12/21) between 5:00PM and 9:00PM and Saturday morning (11/13/21) from 7:30 until the show begins at 10:00AM. The show runs from 10:00AM until 4:00PM on Saturday and between 12:00 noon and 4:00PM Sunday.

The Rockville Senior Center resembles an elementary school and the room we will be in is about the size of a classroom. In the past we pushed tables together to get an area to set up out display. In the past we had an area that measured about 8 feet by 15 feet and a second area that measured about 10 feet by 6 feet. I anticipate doing the same thing again this year. I will be bringing track and power along with some baseplates to cover the table surface. I plan to have 3 loops of 9v and one outer loop of RC track.

If you want to see what we did in the past please click on this link: https://wamaltc.org/show_20181110.html.

Thanks,
Lloyd

Constantine,
I appreciate the offer. I'll let you know after I do initial setup on Friday evening. I'm not sure how much space I will be given and in what shape, so I'm being adaptable. I lack fast food joints, so those might work well. What do you have? I saw plenty of McDonalds during my time in Germnay. As for the name, I used my Eurobricks handle (Feuer Zug) for registering. My name is Alex.

Thanks for letting us know Feuer/Alex/? and if no one else answers I could be tempted to join you (I haven't been to West Virginia in 5 years, see https://wamaltc.org/show_20160625.html). I have no trains that meet your criteria (mostly too long) but maybe one or two of my fast food franchises or some buses could help you.

Ranson show - Nov 6th 2021

Feuer Zug

Hello all,
I am fairly new to the area and recently joined the board here. The local model train club (Bunker Hill Train Club) to me is putting on a show in Ranson, WV on 6 November. I will be running a small display of LEGO trains at their event. Presently, I do not know how much space I will have, but if anybody wishes to bring rolling stock and be a public face for LEGO trains with me, you are welcome to join. My track setup is based on stock LEGO train sizes, so if you want to run anything, please have it be 6-wide and not more than about 40 studs in length. I will be running a European theme (Emerald Night, ICE, DB185 class, ect). Most buildings will be modulars with baseplates and/or felt for table covering.
The website for the show is: https://www.bunkerhilltrainclub.com/train-shows/

Hi Everybody!

We’re excited to have our train show this year! I’m attaching the new flyer.

Below is the email with the scheduling.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Jay Udovich
Rockville Lions Club

It is with great excitement that the Rockville Lions Club announces that we will have our 30th annual Train Show this year! The Rockville Senior Center is now open and we have reserved our usual date of Veterans Day Weekend. This year it will be November 12 – 14. We will have all our usual rooms and the times should be the same:

Friday set-up 5pm – 9pm
Saturday set-up 7:30am – 10am, Show 10am – 4pm
Sunday set-up 10am – 12pm, Show 12pm – 4-pm
Sunday Takedown/Cleanup 4pm – 8pm

Please save the date and feel free to put it out on your social media outlets. Let me know if you know of any other clubs that might want to participate this year.

I will be able to get more specifics out later. I don’t think we’ll have many COVID restrictions, if so I’ll let you know when I get them.

Thank you for all your help for the Rockville Lions Club over the years! Because of your help we have been able to give away almost $100,000 in scholarships to needy Montgomery College students over the last 20 years, vision screen for free to over 3,000 children over the past 20 years and supply a free book at Christmas to every student at Twinbrook Elementary School for the past 8 years. You have been making a difference in people’s lives for years!

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks and see you in November!

Hi Scott.
As you remember it’s a fairly small space that we’re working with but we should be able to fit a couple of your buildings. Looking forward to seeing you.

Thanks,
Lloyd

I'm planning to attend this event. Since I tend to bring large and non-standard building (well, my own standard of 48 studs deep), I know it can be a little difficult to work my things into the display, so it would be good to know how much space I will probably have so I can decide which building(s) to bring. I would also be bringing a few trains, aircraft, and my usual assortment of 8 wide cars. On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 08:32:01 AM EDT, Lloyd Rombold <lrombold@comcast.net> wrote:

If you can help with the show please respond to this email.
